Perry P. Toope - Family Lawyer

Prior to attending law school, Perry studied Business Administration with a concentration in finance and accounting at Memorial University, where he was on the Dean’s List.

At the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, Perry focused his studies on family law related courses and volunteered extensively with legal clinics including Student Legal Services Civil/Family and Criminal Divisions and the Edmonton Community Legal Centre where he was a family law clinical student through the Low-Income Individuals and the Law Course. He also volunteered assisting individuals obtain Emergency Protection Orders through Legal Aid and supported individuals through the Do Your Own Divorce Clinic.

After graduating, Perry articled at a family law boutique where he worked on a comprehensive variety of files including high conflict parenting, complex property division, and child and spousal support determination.

After being called to the bar, Perry has practiced solely in the area of family law and has represented hundreds of individuals in family law and divorce matters. Perry has experience appearing before the Alberta Court of Justice and Court of King’s Bench. Perry also offers limited scope retainers to facilitate access to justice.

Perry is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and Alberta Family Lawyers’ Association.  He has completed additional professional development in alternative dispute resolution.
